Last weekend we attended WordCamp Chicago and were honored to be the platinum sponsors of the event. Since Infolinks has a special place at the WordPress publishers community, we decided to generously support the event and had a great time. On Saturday at 7:30AM sharp the attendees were already queuing to register – it was really impressive to see the engagement of the campers who devoted their entire weekend to share their ideas and to learn about the endless possibilities of the WordPress software.
The camp was divided into two tracks: a user track filled with presentations and information targeted to users, who learned how to leverage WordPress, to take control of content and publish their way to success! The Developers Track chock full of high level geek speak for designer and developers who discussed everything from themeing to plugin development.
The Infolinks main booth turned into a little bakery where we baked and served over 1000 yummi chocolate chip cookies, which we munched all day long. We gave away to each attendee a cool USB card loaded with the Infolinks WordPress plugin. The campers who called us the cookie guys stopped by and gave us great feedback about monetizing their WP blogs and learn about our great In Text Advertising solution. Their high interest proved us again that WordPress sites combined with Infolinks In Text ads equals the ultimate monetization match.
Overall WordCamp Chicago was a big success and we want to specially congratulate Lisa Sabin – Wilson, the main organizer and the writer of WordPress for Dummies for such a great weekend.
